PORTAGEVILLE, Mo. -- Top seeds are set to collide in the Bootheel Conference Tournament championship after picking up semifinal victories in straight-set fashion Wednesday night.

Top-seeded Campbell beat No. 4 Senath-Hornersville 26-24, 25-11 while No. 2 Malden hammered its way past South Pemiscot 25-8, 25-17.

Lexi Campbell had three aces and a kill, Anna Belcher added two dogs and Lana Reed and Gracie Thomas came up with two blocks each in the win for Malden (21-7-1).

These two teams will meet in the title game at 7 p.m. Thursday. Campbell won the first meeting against Malden 25-21, 14-25, 25-19 to claim its first Bootheel Conference regular season title in school history.

SOFTBALL

Jefferson-Festus 11, Twin Rivers 7

The Lady Royals couldn't hold a two-run lead and fell short of a comeback in a loss to the Bluejays in a MSHSAA Class 2 District 3 quarterfinal.

Allie Kacynski gave Twin Rivers (2-17) a 1-0 lead with an RBI double in the first before scoring on a bases loaded walk. But Jefferson responded with five unanswered runs to take the lead for good.

Abbey Hester went 3 for 4 with three runs scored for the Lady Royals. Bella Galloway homered and finished with two hits while Kaitlin Deken and Madison Lampe each drove in a run.
