Wappapello Lake Area Association (WLAA) will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 10.
Plans for the upcoming meeting were announced during the September meeting at the Bill Emerson Memorial Visitor Center at Wappapello Lake.
This year is the 25th Anniversary of the Festival of Lights Auto Tour and the members discussed getting more groups and businesses involved as well as the possibility of more businesses joining the group and paying dues in January 2018. Schultz talked about advertising memberships with the Festival of Lights Booth.
The group discussed coordinating of 4th of July event.
Jackson provided update concerning visitor center, Willie B. Safe Playground Area, fishing trail from Peoples Creek and bike trail.
Officers present were Cindy Crabb, Gloria Triplett, Jon Hayes, Trevor Totten, Trevor Williams and Tim Schultz. Andrew Jefferson was not present.
Lawn Mower Races for Oct. 14 were cancelled. Cindy Jackson talked about the deer hunt for mobility impaired hunters in October. Jan Brown mentioned WLAA's participation in the Iron Horse Festival Sept. 30, which consisted of crafters, food, games, etc. Crabb suggested WLAA pay the $25 fee to go and hand out booklets. The group planned to sell WLAA Coins and hand out booklets at Old Greenville Days.
