From Staff Reports

The Puxico Christian Concert featuring Building 429, Josh Wilson and Chris August will take place at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 6 at the Puxico Arnold Ryan Gym. Doors will open at 6 p.m.

The concert is expected to be a totally different worship experience than the previous two years. All three artists will be sharing a band for the night and will be performing each other's songs and other popular praise and worship songs.

Other artists who have performed consist of Big Daddy Weave, Jordan Feliz, Plumb in 2016 and Kerri Roberts in 2015.

"God has been revealing himself to us from the start of this," stated Jaquie Hodges, founder of the concerts "We ask God to provide the band He wants to be here and to have His hand in every part of the planning. After the first concert God revealed to us how to continue this. A good friend from Duck Creek Baptist Church, Katie Parsley, had met a producer several years ago and thought we should contact him to see if he could help. It is amazing how God puts people in our lives and uses them for His glory. We have since put together a committee for the planning process. The committee is made up of people from different area churches. There are many months of praying and planning. This years concert has been in planning for almost a year."

"It's something that I felt God leading me towards for quite some time. This world needs Jesus. Why not start with our own community," stated Hodges. "There is a quote from Mother Teresa that I recently heard from a friend and really like 'I alone cannot change the world, but I can cast a stone across the waters to create many ripples.' These concerts are our way of making ripples. We live in a wonderful community and we couldn't do this without God, prayers, and many people volunteering their precious time and hard work."

Donations from local businesses, churches and organizations have been received as well as monetary donations from fundraisers to help pay for the initial costs.

The public may order tickets online at www.itickets.com or call Jenny Campbell at 573-776-3722 or Becky Parsley at 573-614-0297. Tickets are $12 each or $10 each if you buy 10 or more. VIP tickets are $25 and consist of a 45 minute question and answer session plus an autograph and photo opportunity.

All profits go toward funding of next year's concert. The group attempts to keep the ticket prices low so the concert is affordable for anyone who wishes to attend.
