The Puxico High School Beta Club currently has a Puxico Pride shirt fundraiser going on which will end Friday, Sept. 22.
Beta Club is an invitation only club based on certain academic and character requirements. Along with sustaining a good academic and character record, the students must also participate in four hours of organized community service projects throughout the school year as well as a service project for the St. Jude Research Hospital.
Order forms can be picked up at any of the office buildings on the school campus or from a Beta Club member. Their next fundraiser will take place Oct. 13, from noon through the evening hours at the FEMA building parking lot and will feature a Ford Drive 4Ur School Event. This is a joint fundraiser with the Puxico Educational Foundation and both groups will gain monetary donations donated by Ford for each vehicle that is test drove during the event.
This year's state convention has been moved up from March to the weekend of Dec. 1. Once again the Beta Club plans to have a candidate running for a Beta Club State Office position, as well as the majority of their 60 member club competing in individual and group competitions focusing on many areas of interest including academic testing, the arts, talent, and many other areas.
