Major William Paul Taylor II (US Army Ret.)(aka Bill) died peacefully at home at 2:35 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 3, 2017. Major Taylor served during the Korean War and during two tours of combat duty in Vietnam. He was awarded the Purple Heart during the Korean conflict. Bill was a member of the KCRC model aircraft flying club. He attended Lee's Summit Baptist Church. Bill was a resident of Kansas City, Mo. at the time of his passing. We'll never forget his influence, service and love for us and country.
He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years Lula Belle Magill Taylor; sons, Michael, Bruce and Samuel; daughter-in-law, Diana Davalos Taylor; daughter/niece, Debra Russell; 11 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Patsy Taylor Wells and her daughters in Henderson, N.C.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 7, at Fitch-Hillis Funeral Home, 366 College, Poplar Bluff, Mo.
Funeral service will be at Fitch-Hillis Funeral Home Friday, Sept. 8 at 10 a.m.
A Military Burial will follow (11 A.M.) Friday, Sept. 8 at Missouri Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield, Missouri after the funeral service.
