YPSILANTI, Mich. -- Poplar Bluff's Logan Bell placed fourth in the 17-18 age division javelin at the AAU Junior Olympics on Friday.
Bell threw 166-feet, 8-inches to earn a medal at Eastern Michigan University's Rynearson Stadium.
Chandler Ault of Midland, Mich. won the event at 210-feet while Izac Canchola of Refugio, Texas was second at 182-10. Matthew Mehaffy of Liberty, Mo. threw 173-8 to edge Bell, who placed second at the MSHSAA Class 5 state championship meet in May with a throw of 176-2 while Mehaffy placed 12th.
Poplar Bluff's Jaelyn Haldeman ran the 8-under division 100-meters in 16.97 seconds for 65th and was 73rd in the 200 at 35.21.
Landen Deaton finished 31st in the 10-year-old 800 at 2:36.79, 35th in the long jump at 11-11.5 and 49th in the 400 at 1:09.72.
Jaden Deaton finished 14th in the 15-16 division 2,000 steeplechase at 7:08 and was 39th in the 3200 at 10:20.
Trenton Davis competed in the 15-16 division decathlon, placing sixth in the pole vault at 9-5.75, 12th in the 400 at 56.21, 12th in the 1500 at 5:10, cleared 4-5 in the high jump, 13th in the discus at 82-3, 14th in the javelin at 98-0, 16th in the shot at 28-8.25 and 23rd in the 100 at 12.64.
