The City of Puxico Board of Aldermen set Saturday, Aug. 5 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. as a time for the City-Wide Clean-Up.
As was done last year, a dumpster will be set up on the west side of the City Hall parking lot Aug. 5. The dumpster will be there only the one day from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Citizens of Puxico may discard bulk trash (no household trash) in the dumpster. Bulk trash includes anything out of the house that is in disrepair, such as couches, computers, chairs, televisions, dressers, commodes and small appliances.
In order to dump the bulk trash in the dumpster, a person must show proof of residency in the City, such as a drivers license or a utility bill with name and address, to a representative from the trash company who will be on site and will be able to help with the dumping of larger items.
Items that cannot be put in the dumpster include yard waste, such as straw, grass, dirt, leaves and railroad ties; construction materials, and hazardous or infectious materials, such as tires, batteries, motor oil, radiator fluid, medical waste and paint.
