Poplar Bluff's Tyson Cox was named to the USA Today High School Sports ALL-USA Missouri Baseball Team on Wednesday. The Mules infielder was listed on the second team, one of 22 total to be recognized in the state. Cox hit .443 with 35 hits, 11 RBIs, 26 runs and an on-base percentage of .500 this spring. Cox is also a finalist for the Semoball Awards, which will be held Saturday at the River Campus of Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau...

Braden Cox of Scott City was on the first team while Arcadia Valley's Jake Pryor was also on the second team.

Grant Wood, an infielder and pitcher from Jefferson City, was named the player of the year.

Tyson Cox was also named to the Missouri Baseball Coaches Association's first team for Class 5 along with teammates Ronin Rice (first team) and Michael Anagnostopoulos (second). -- DAR
