FARMINGTON, Mo. -- Laddie Cross, a 43-year employee with U.S. Bank, will be honored Friday by U.S. Bank for his many years of service to the Farmington community. The celebration with refreshments will be held from 9 a.m. to noon at the Farmington Branch located at 2 North Washington St.

According to bank officials, "We are grateful to Laddie for his many years of service to U.S. Bank. He is a highly respected member not only of this company, but also in the community where his work is surpassed only by his passion for making our city the best it can be. We applaud him and wish him well as he begins a new chapter in his life."

Cross began his career with the Bank of Poplar Bluff in 1974. He wore many hats in his time there including, but not limited to accounting, bank auditor and bank operations. He also taught bank operations at Three Rivers Community College. In the summer of 1985, Laddie graduated from Stonier Graduate School of Banking at Rutgers State University. He continued his career U.S. Bank at Mercantile Bank in 1985 as the regional chief financial officer, into 1998 as hub manager with FirstStar Bank. Cross became a member of the Farmington community in 2004, taking on the role of Farmington market president and commercial relationship manager with U.S. Bank at the Farmington Branch.

He has been a member of Kiwanis since 2015 and served as president since October 2016. He has also served on the board of the United Way since 2015. Throughout his professional career, Cross has participated in many events for the Farmington Chamber of Commerce.

He officially retires June 30.
