Edith Parks along with Hermena and Harold Holigan thank everyone who made Parks' 100th birthday party so much fun and meaningful for her. Sixty-one people joined her in Dallas June 17, the 100th anniversary of her birth.

Parks was a resident of Puxico for more than 50 years, before moving in with family. A wonderful meal was provided by a local chef, including burgers, pulled pork, potato salad and more. Three cakes were made to represent some of the things Edith has loved over her lifetime. A special "cake" made of 100 candles lit up the kitchen like a bonfire. Fortunately for Edith, she had seven great grandchildren and five extra helpers to blow out the candles.

Thanks to Sarah Holigan, Michael Holigan, and Rebecca and Chris Smeltzer for all the hard work, planning, decorating, food, etc. Thanks to everyone who attended the party, sent cards, made phone calls and Facebook messaged Parks. She went to bed feeling very loved.
