A better solution

Well, it's official. MoDOT is rebuilding T Highway just like it was so it can wash out again for half the price they were expecting!! Looks like they could take the rest of that money and seal that roadway in concrete so maybe it would stand a chance of surviving, but they won't. They don't care about those of us who live on the northside of the dam. But you can bet if this happened in a metropolitan area or Mark Shelton's family was affected by it there would be a better solution. In my opinion Mark Shelton should be fired and replaced by someone with some common sense and compassion.

Check quality of care, cleanliness

Hello, Speak Out! I just wanted to encourage anyone planning on putting a loved one or perhaps even themselves in a nursing home, especially in Poplar Bluff, that they talk to current residents and family of residents and spend some time in that facility visiting and if possible talk to, not the higher up employees, but the ones who are out there doing the grunt work. Find out if there's enough people working there for it to be kept properly clean and for the residence to get their medication on time and their food on time. It is sinful the charges for staying in one of those places if the quality of care and cleanliness isn't there. Spend some time before you put a loved one in one of those places -- a word to the wise.

homeless families

Yes, I just saw in the paper yesterday where the library was selling books and stuff for a dog walk park in downtown Poplar Bluff. C'mon, folks! Get a better cause than a dog walking park when Ferguson Grove, Hendrickson Park, Whiteley, Bacon Park you don't need a dog walking park in the middle of downtown Poplar Bluff for the rich people to take their fancy dogs. You NEED at homeless shelter for families! You need something different than a dog walking park! GIVE ME A BREAK! Get a homeless shelter building for families. For crying out loud. This is ridiculous! Poplar Bluff is going to heck!
