Local authorities continue to investigate the apparent suicide death of a Poplar Bluff, Mo., man who was found early this morning inside his car.
Poplar Bluff police officers and emergency-medical-services personnel responded just after 7:30 a.m. today to the Hillcrest Apartments in the 400 block of Second Street regarding a "male subject bleeding in a vehicle," explained Deputy Chief Donnie Trout.
"Upon their arrival, (officers) found a deceased 37-year-old male," with an "apparent gunshot wound, which appeared to be self inflicted," in the car, Trout said. The man, according to Butler County Coroner Andy Moore, was identified as Dennis King and was pronounced dead at 8:05 a.m..
King did not live at the apartments, said Trout, who indicated the car belonged to him.
Officers, Trout said, processed the scene and are continuing to conduct a death investigation at this time.
