Wanda Mae (Nixon) Mayo, 80, of Poplar Bluff, died Tuesday, June 13, 2017 in St. Charles, Mo.
Mrs. Mayo was born June 20, 1936 in Poplar Bluff. The daughter of the late Ike Nixon and Almalee Bradham. She worked at J.C. Penney in the jewelry dept. She loved reading, bowling and playing card and board games with her great-grandsons.
She married Billy James Mayo, June 18, 1954 in Poplar Bluff. He preceded her in death, July 20, 1980.
She is survived by a son, James (LeAnn) Mayo of Orange, Calif.; a daughter, Pamela (Stephen) Gray of Poplar Bluff; three granddaughters: Stacie (Michael) Bleem of Fisk, Myka Mayo and Jordan Mayo of Orange, Calif.; and two great-grandsons: Cameron Bleem and Blake Bleem.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Thursday, June 15, 2017 at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the chapel with the Rev. Brian Sharp officiating. Burial will follow at Sparkman Cemetery in Butler County.
