The members of the American Legion Post #114 recently completed their Fifth Annual Poker Run and Cook-Off Competition with the proceeds being donated to the Bloomfield Assistance League of the Missouri Veterans Cemetery Inc. After competition of a full day of events on June 3 the Post raised more than $22,000.

Major events held by the American Legion, American Legion Auxiliary, Sons of the American Legion and American Legion Riders were a Bowling Tournament, Bean Bag Toss Tournament, Wing War Competition, Poker Run and Auction of items contributed by local agencies and businesses.

Members of the American Legion Post #114 will gather at 11 a.m. June 17 and proceed to the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield Committal Facility where they will make the presentation of the donation to the cemetery at approximately 11:30 a.m. The donated funds will be used for the promotion and improvement to the cemetery. The donation last year was used to enclose the Committal Facility and improve the appearance and environment of the facility.
