FISK, Mo. -- Truman Barr, 89, of Wappapello, Mo., died Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Mo.
Mr. Barr was born Thursday, Feb. 23, 1928 in Lilbourn, Mo. to the late Loyd and Willie Ira Lee (Harris) Barr. On July 4, 1948 he married Mary Ann Pry at Broseley, Mo. She preceded him in death on March 6, 2008.
He retired from Mississippi Glass and served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and classic trucks and cars.
He is survived by one son: Dennis Barr (Mary) of Granite City, Ill.; two daughters: Linda Rutherford (Bob) of Wappapello, Mo.; Denise Thompson (Ralph) of Manchester, Tenn.; three brothers: Don Barr (Judy) of Qulin, Mo., Richard Barr (Shiron) of Qulin, Mo., James Barr (Sheila) of Benton, Mo.; and one sister: Gracie Lea Bailey (Bud) of Poplar Bluff, Mo., five grandchildren: Jason and Aaron Winters, Adrienne Newcomer, Alex and Lillie Barr; one great-grandchild: Ava Winters and many nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by three sisters: Ruby Coble, Sue Hicks, Etta Jane Crook; three brothers: Beryl Barr, Jessie Barr, and Dave Barr.
Visitation will begin at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, May 27, 2017 at White-Sanders Funeral Home in Fisk. Funeral will follow at 2:30 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Jim Sanders officiating. Burial will be in Brown Chapel Cemetery at Broseley Mo.
