Helen Moore, 90, of Poplar Bluff, formerly of Chicago, Ill., died Monday, May 8, 2017 at Westwood Hills Health Center. She was born Dec. 7, 1926 in Delhi, La. She was of the Baptist faith. She was a member of the Grace Conservative Baptist Church in Chicago.
She married Frank W. Moore, Sr., March 11, 1943. He preceded her in death.
Helen accepted Christ as her personal savior in 1960 at Grace Conservative Baptist Church in Chicago, Ill. where she served as deaconess, teacher, missionary, a faithful servant spreading the gospel to the world. Helen was a homemaker who enjoyed being with her children and grandchildren. She worked in the home and as a judge of election from 1950-1999, and volunteered at several senior centers, until her health started to fail in 2010.
She leaves to cherish her memory two sons: Frank Moore of Poplar Bluff and Ernest Moore of Chicago; two daughters,:Brenda Patterson (Micheal) of Poplar Bluff and Delores Essex (Jonathan) of Atlanta, Ga.; two daughters-in-law: Eun Ju Moore and Sonja Moore; one brother-in-law, Casper Taylor; 13 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were two sons: Roger Moore and Ronald Moore.
A visitation will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 27, 2017 at Fitch-Hillis Funeral Home Chapel, followed by the funeral service at noon. Burial will be at City Cemetery.
