Poplar Bluff Municipal Library is partnering with Reading Solutions Learning Lab of Poplar Bluff, hosting Learning Labs for children at the library on from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Monday, June 5, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 6, and from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, June 7. Admission is free, and the event is open to the public.
During the Learning Labs, children in grades K - 12 play three games with Reading Solutions personnel. The games are tools, revealing whether a child's eyes are working together, whether sounds are identified within words, and seeing the movement of the eyes on a computer screen during a silent reading activity. To children, it is pure fun; to parents, it may be the clue needed to explain why a child is struggling to read.
