Caroline Robison of Bloomfield is the recipient of this year's Regional Healthcare Foundation Scholarship. Robison, the 2017 Salutatorian of Bloomfield High School, is the daughter of Bill and Tracy Robison. She has one younger brother, Will. Her grandparents are Delain and Marjorie Robison of Puxico and Tom and Carolyn Jarrell of Bloomfield.
Robison plans to attend the University of Missouri in Columbia this Fall to pursue a degree in health sciences on a pre-med track. She aspires to ultimately earn a professional degree in medicine.
The Regional Healthcare Foundation awards a scholarship annually to one Stoddard County high school senior going into the health care profession. "I am honored to be the recipient of the Regional Healthcare Foundation scholarship this year. I would like to thank the Foundation for their support and encouragement. Their investment in students pursuing health care careers inspires me to one day give back to our community," says Caroline Robison.
Last summer, Robison attended the Summer College for Rising High School Seniors Program at the University of Mississippi in Oxford, participating in their pharmacy track program and earning seven college credit hours in chemistry and statistics. She also attended Mini Medical School at the University of Missouri's School of Medicine. Robison has worked part-time for two years at Key Drugs as a licensed pharmacy technician.
Her activities include National Beta Club, Student Council, Southeast Missouri Area Health Education Center Scholars Program, Future Business Leaders of America, Media Team, Choir, Pep Club/Band, and Fellowship of Christian Students. She is a member of St. Joe General Baptist Church in Bloomfield.
Robison served as student body president and class president, and held additional leadership roles in Beta Club, FBLA, choir and band.
In addition to her honor by the Regional Healthcare Foundation, Robison has been named an Elks Student of the Month, a National Beta Scholar, and member of the Mizzou True Tiger Network. She recently was recognized for her commitment to community service with the President's Volunteer Service Award for her volunteer hours logged in 2016.
The Regional Healthcare Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to building healthy communities through programs and services designed to enhance overall health and wellness. The foundation continues to promote health and wellness, to the communities of Southeast Missouri, through its diverse community programs.
