Saturday, June 3, a medical team will travel to Honduras on a mission trip for a week. Among those joining the team will be Josh Wilson, 17, of Poplar Bluff, a member of New Home General Baptist Church.

At the age of 9, Wilson became a Christian. Approximately eight months ago, he told his pastor, Calvin Buhler, of his desire to go on an international mission trip. That started the wheels turning and soon Wilson connected with the medical team lead by Dr. Richard Wirz, Jr., of Dexter, Mo., who was preparing for the trip in June.

The medical team will provide medical supplies, medical care and procedures. In addition, dental care and hygiene, pharmaceutical, eye care and exams will be provided. The team is composed of physicians, nurses and other team members. They will visit remote villages in impoverished areas.

New Home General Baptist Church totally supports Wilson's mission.

Wilson has an abundant ambition to glorify God, Buhler said, and his trip to Honduras will be a life changing experience. Wilson has agreed to share his adventure with readers of Daily American Republic once he is back home.
