Poplar Bluff Police are searching for a man who allegedly shot into a car occupied by his ex-girlfriend, their two small children and another passenger Friday afternoon.
According to a press release, Michael D. Jackson, 34, of Poplar Bluff, approached the victim's vehicle on Highway 60 just east of Highway 67 and brandished a handgun before firing four shots, one of which struck just below the rear window near where one of the children were located.
Police say Jackson is armed and dangerous and was last known to be driving a black Buick sport utility vehicle. He is believed to have ties to the Columbia, Mo., area. Police urge anyone with information to call the department at 573-785-5776.
