GREENVILLE -- Tye Huff drove in the go-ahead run with a single in the bottom of the sixth inning as the Greenville baseball team held on to beat Neelyville 3-2 for an Ozark Foothills Conference victory Tuesday. Huff also had the Bears' first RBI on a single in the bottom of the third to plate Wyatt Barks, after Peyton Hobbs put Neelyville (8-12, 4-2 OFC) up with an RBI single a half-inning earlier...

GREENVILLE -- Tye Huff drove in the go-ahead run with a single in the bottom of the sixth inning as the Greenville baseball team held on to beat Neelyville 3-2 for an Ozark Foothills Conference victory Tuesday.

Huff also had the Bears' first RBI on a single in the bottom of the third to plate Wyatt Barks, after Peyton Hobbs put Neelyville (8-12, 4-2 OFC) up with an RBI single a half-inning earlier.

With one out in the fifth, Jack Becker's RBI double gave the Bears (5-4, 3-1 OFC) a 2-1 lead. Neelyville answered as Drayden French drew a bases loaded walk to tie things up.

It was the only run allowed by Becker, who gave up three hits over the final four innings to secure the win. Trey McDaniel started and struck out five in three innings. He also had a hit and walked once.

Greenville can clinch its third straight OFC regular-season title with a win against Twin Rivers on Friday.

Bernie 12, Leopold 4

Wyatt Barnett, Jayce Burk and Alex Guzman all finished with three hits for the Mules. Guzman drove in four funs while Barnett scored three times and Burk scored twice.

Blake Beacham pitched in a complete-game win for Bernie, which scored nine of its runs in the final three innings. Beacham allowed five hits and no walks with two strikeouts.

SOFTBALL

Greenville 6, Naylor 5

Emilie O'Dell blasted a game-tying home run in the bottom of the seventh and Tristin Porter followed with a walk-off triple as the Lady Bears snuck past their conference foes at home.

Trailing 5-4 heading into the final frame, O'Dell led off the inning with her first career home run over the right-center field fence to tie it up. Siera Bennett walked one at-bat later before Porter gave Greenville (7-7, 3-1 OFC) the win with one swing.

O'Dell was 3 for 3, Lawren Luke was 2 for 3 with two RBIs, Jaden Francis and Zee Luke each had singles and Siera Bennett added an RBI.

Van Buren 5, Scott City 2

Trailing by two runs with three outs to go, the defending Class 1 fall softball state champions rallied with five hits and five runs in the seventh to top the Rams on the road.

Kiley Staley, Sydnee Sanders and Hannah Truncone slapped two hits each while Jalynn Morgan got the win in the circle, going all seven innings and giving up two runs -- one earned -- on seven hits with three walks and two strikeouts.

Twin Rivers 6, Richland 5

Trailing by a run, the Lady Royals scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh for a walk-off win over the Lady Rebels.

Kylee Lewis reached on a one-out single stole second and third before Brittany Williams delivered a two-out single to tie the game at 5-5. Kasey Nance then reached on an error which allowed Lewis to score the game-winner.

Lewis was 2 for 4 with a pair of singles while Williams went 3 for 4 with two RBIs. Catey Hester, Katie Gehrke, Bella Galloway and Taylor Dugger each added a hit.

Kennett 9, Malden 7

The second-seeded Indians rallied from behind three times to outlast the top-seeded Green Wave and claim the Bootheel Conference Tournament championship for the second time since 2014.

Kennett entered the final inning trailing 7-6 after Malden (17-2) scored three runs a half-inning earlier. The Lady Indians loaded the bases twice and scored three runs to take the lead for good.

Katie Goodman, who pitched a nine-inning 1-0 shutout against Kennett earlier in the season, also pitched a pair of complete games Tuesday. Goodman went the distance in a semifinal Malden won 10-0 against Senath-Hornersville and finished with 10 strikeouts against Kennett.

Gracie Thomas was the only multiple hitter for Malden while Lana Reed hit a two-run homer in the fifth.

Advance 6, Puxico 5

Kaiti Payne hit a pair of doubles and finished 2 for 4 with a run and two RBIs for the Lady Indians.

Bailey Burns and Katelyn Pierre both had two hits each while Kaylie Miller drove in two runs and scored twice.
