Speak Out 4/29/13
Where are the
'hot sheets?'
This is to the person who had an article in Speak Out about our pawn shops and how they like to sell and resell items that have been stolen in our community. Well, actually, you can't fully blame the pawn shops for this action because our police department and our sheriff's department don't circulate what-are-called "hot sheets." You know those things that they put serial numbers and descriptions of the item that have been stolen at break-ins. You know, everything from cars to generators to weapons--you name it--and it's their abject failure of doing their duty for the community that is allowing these revolving door criminal APMs aka pawn shops to even exist, so we can either press our government to legislative put all pawn shops out of business for their criminality or we can demand more of our law enforcement community. The choice is yours, citizen. Now, you have to decide which is the easier route to pursue.
Reader: school making bad cuts
Yes. I live outside of Qulin and I would like to speak out about Twin Rivers School system cutting the bus route. I just heard about the Twin Rivers Schools cutting the bus route at Qulin. What is wrong with this board? My kids get on the bus at 6:25 a.m. and ride for over an hour to get to school. If they do away with the bus route won't this make longer ride time for the kids? I'm asking all parents of this school system to call your board members and tell them your feelings on this. I am serious. If it is money matters, they can find other places to cut. Why is it always the kids that gets the blunt end of every matter when it comes to cutting for the purpose of saving money? It is time to speak out about this and make changes in other areas of the school. Is this a way to punish us who didn't vote for bill to build a new school at Broseley? If this is the case, then we need a lot of changes of the higher ups in this school system. Please, members of the board, take a closer look at this before this happens. Thank you.
Clean up
the trash
Trash. Trash. I'm speaking about all the trash in the city and in the surroundings. They'll park their old cars instead of taking 'em to the junk yard and them their yards look terrible. Maybe they'll get the message the 27th and maybe they'll take some off. They just don't keep their homes up. They don't care about them or their neighbors. Bye.
Stupid economy
Remember Butler Electric in Corning, Ark. and now NORDYNE in Poplar Bluff, Mo. thanks to Bill Clinton's fair trade agreement. Think of all the companies that have left this good ole U. S. A. Thanks, Bill, and don't forget George W. Bush -- two wars wasn't paid for. This made a stupid economy.
