Quentin Carl Sappington, 83, of Naylor, Mo., died Saturday, Sept. 15, 2012, at Ripley County Memorial Hospital in Doniphan, Mo.

Mr. Sappington was born Oct. 22, 1928, in Searcy, Ark. He was formerly a resident of Little Rock, Ark. He was a member of the Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ. A U.S. Army veteran, he served during the Korean War. He had worked as a chef for Chase Park Plaza Restaurant. Mr. Sappington enjoyed reading the Bible, playing the guitar and singing. A minister, he had pastored churches in Piedmont, Mo., and Ellington, Mo.

Survivors include one sister, Delavina Ferren of Poplar Bluff, Mo., and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Wesley Sappington and Sarah Elizabeth Keith Sappington; and four brothers, John Sappington, Forest Sappington, James Sappington and Grady Sappington.

Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, with funeral services following at 1 p.m. Donnie Fowler will officiate. Burial will be in Harmony Cemetery in Ellsinore, Mo., with full military rites.
