MALDEN, MO. -- Norvell M. "Bill" Beck, 80, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., died Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2011, at Westwood Hills Health Care Center in Poplar Bluff, Mo.
Mr. Beck was born Oct. 23, 1931, in Sikeston, Mo. He formerly had lived in Campbell, Mo. He attended Holy Cross Episcopal Church in Poplar Bluff. He served in the U.S. Army and was a retired teacher and coach.
He was married to Joyce Sanders in July, 1951. She died March 12, 2011.
Survivors are one daughter, Terry Niederkorn, and husband, Steve, of Poplar Bluff; one son, Michael Beck of Poplar Bluff; one grandson, Scott Beck of Texas; one granddaughter, Lorie Veazey of Searcy, Ark.; two great-grandchildren, Charlie Veazey and Maggie Veazey, both of Searcy, Ark.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Killingsworth and Norvel Beck, and one son, Scotty Beck.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Kennett, Mo., with military rites. Rev. Annette Joseph will officiate. The family asks in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden is in charge of arrangements.
