This victory marks a significant achievement for Dexter, who entered the tournament as the second seed, just behind the top-seeded Notre Dame.

A Battle of Equals

The matchup between Dexter and Notre Dame was a clash of evenly matched teams. Both teams had similar records, with Dexter holding a 14-13 record for the season and Notre Dame at 14-14. Their home records were also closely matched, with Dexter at 7-4 and Notre Dame at 7-3.
