FARMINGTON, Mo. --Westwood Hills Country Club defended its SEMO Cup title over the weekend with an 11-shot win at Crown Pointe Golf Course. FARMINGTON, Mo. --Westwood Hills Country Club defended its SEMO Cup title over the weekend with an 11-shot win at Crown Pointe Golf Course.

The Poplar Bluff club won for a record 12th time since the event started in 1989.

Westwood Hills finished at 691 followed by Dalhousie Golf Club (702), Cape Girardeau Country Club (703), Kimbeland Country Club of Jackson (706), Fox Haven Country Club of Sikeston (706) and host Crown Pointe (716), which all finished under par. Hidden Trails of Dexter shot 727 to finish eighth.

The 10-team tournament featured nine holes of four different formats --scramble, best ball, alternate shot and Champman --with the best five of six in each format counting toward the team score.

Westwood Hills was led by Ben Brummit and Carr Vernon who finished at 15-under-par 129. Neil Pullum and Jimmy Vernon shot 138 while Derek Rahlmann and Brad Thislemeir finished at 140. Bobby Godwin and John Shock also finished under par at 141. Adam Ivie and Mike Ivie shot 146 while David Gilmore and Jake Robertson finished at 153.
