The SEMO Youth Shooters sent 28 participants to Sparta, Illinois, for the 2022 AIM Grand Nationals recently to compete against shooters from around the world.
The team of shooters ranging from fourth grade through college, brought home eight patches, nine individual awards and three squad awards.
"This is the reward for all their hard work throughout the year," SEMO coach Donald Cash said. "Their dedication and devotion to this sport never ceases to amaze me. We couldn't be prouder of them."
Tayler Hillis was the Junior Gold Class C runner-up with a score of 378 while Lillie Johnson was the High Pre-Sub Lady Champion with a 363 score.
In squad awards, the SEMO Wees team finished second in the Pre-Sub division with an 865 and SEMO Freshman also finished second in Sub Junior Class AA with a score of 929. SEMO High School finished third in the Junior Class C division with a 936.
In the handicaps, Madison Cash scored a 98 to win the High Lady Sub-Junior Championship and place sixth in Sub Junior while Lillie Johnson scored 94 to place fourth in Pre-Sub.
In doubles, Matthew Gilliam finished as the Pre-Sub Class B runner-up with an 84, Sam Johnson also placed second in Sub-Junior Class C with a 90 and Hillis placed third in Junior Gold Class C with an 88. Gilliam also won the 25 Bird International Pre-Sub Championship.
