SMITHVILLE, Mo. — Poplar Bluff’s Landon Barks placed second in his age group during the 37th Missouri Junior Amateur at Paradise Pointe Golf Complex in Smithville on Wednesday while Lawson Barks placed 12th in his division.
Landon Barks shot a two-round total of 9-over 153 with rounds of 77 and 76 to place second in the 12-13 age division.
In the opening round Tuesday, Barks had a pair of birdies on par-3 holes to go with 11 pars. He was three shots behind first-round leader Anson Munzlinger of Columbia, Missouri.
Munzlinger shot 3-under 69 in the second round to win by 10 shots at 1-under 143.
Barks had three birdies during his second round — the par-3 fifth and eighth and the par-5 14th — to go with 10 pars.
Lawson Barks finished 12th in the 14-15 age division with rounds of 85. He missed the top-10 by four shots.
Rolla’s Jonathan Jordan won the division at even-par 144.
Barks had seven pars Tuesday in the opening round while his lone birdie was on the par-3 eighth Wednesday to go with eight pars.
Dylan Sitze of Dexter tied for 23rd in the 16-18 age division with rounds of 77 and 79 to finish at 12-over par.
Sitze had 13 pars Tuesday and 11 in the second round to go with birdies on the par-3 eighth and 12th.
Cy Worley of Dexter tied for 40th at 18-over par. He opened with an 83 that featured a birdie on the par-4 ninth to go with nine pars. In the second round, Worley again had nine pars and a birdie on the par-4 17th in shooting a 79.
Dylan Comstock of Orrick was the overall winner at 5-under while Bailey Burkett of Kansas City was the overall female medalist at 9-over.
Ella Overstreet and Kaydi Rhodes, both of Jackson, tied for first in the 16-18 division at 13-over 157. Anna Bell of Jackson placed second in the 12-13 age division at 18-over with rounds of 84 and 90.
