BERNIE -- Weston Zoll threw a perfect game as Bernie beat Puxico 9-0 on Thursday in Bernie.
Zoll needed 74 pitches, 55 for strikes, and struck out 10 along the way. He had at least one strikeout against seven different Indians. Zoll has pitched 10 1/3 innings for the season and has allowed a total of two hits and a walk with 13 strikeouts.
Opponents are batting 0.062 against him.
Trenton Johnson was 2 for 3 with two RBIs and two runs for Bernie. Blake Beacham added three RBIs and Gavin Brown had two.
The Mules (12-1) scored six runs in the sixth inning to pull away from Puxico (1-10), which committed seven errors.
It was Bernie's seventh shutout of the season. The Mules have allowed more than five runs once, in its only loss of the season 9-3 against Oran.
Bloomfield 12, Holcomb 2
The Wildcats split up their 12 runs between eight different players. Dalton Phillips, Nick Carter, Will Thorn and Gavin Chasteen each scored twice.
Dustin Debeaux pitched 4 2/3 innings, when he hit his pitch count, in the win and struck out six against five hits and six walks for the Wildcats (2-12).
Naylor 11, Greenville 1
Seth Jones doubled and Caleb Urich finished with two RBIs to help lead the Eagles past the Bears in five innings on the road.
"Our boys came out with laser focus today. I would love to see more days like today," Naylor coach Jim Carrier said.
Jordan Cook was 2 for 3 with an RBI and six other players had a hit for Naylor (3-8, 1-3 OFC). Chance Smith struck out three, walked four and only allowed five hits and a run in five innings on the hill.
Jack Becker, Alex Hicks, Tye Huff and Patrick Friley each had a hit for Greenville (0-6, 0-2)
SOFTBALL
Doniphan 7, Neelyville 4
Locked in a 3-all tie, the Doniphan softball team broke things wide open with a four-run sixth inning to beat Neelyville Thursday.
Pinch hitter Randa Franke singled to start the inning then scored when Hannah Ponder doubled and reached third on an error. Jaylin Dutton followed with a sacrifice fly to score Ponder and make it 5-3.
Timberly Masching added a double and Lexi Day singled a batter later before Paige Eddington's two-run double to set the final score.
Masching, Eddington and Kaylee Davis each had multiple hits for the Donettes (9-3, 4-1 OFC), who turned three double plays in the win.
Mackenzie Hobbs, Tori Harlow and Lexi Nippe each had a hit for Neelyville (3-8, 1-2). Madison Dollins went 2 for 3 with three RBIs to pace the Lady Tigers.
Van Buren 15, Bakersfield 0
Morgan Shockley belted two hits and drove in three runs as the Lady Dawgs blasted the Lions in four innings at home.
Four other players --Jennifer Morey, Brooke Jackson and Sydnee Sanders -- had multiple hits for Van Buren (10-4), which finished with 13 hits. Logan Crafton added a hit and three RBIs while Morey and Tripp each had two RBIs.
Hailie Hampton, filling in for an unjured Jalynn Morgan, tossed four innings of two-hit ball. She struck out rhree and walked two in the win.
VOLLEYBALL
Winona 2, Clearwater 0

Dezare Clinton led the Lady Tigers with nine kills and Rachel Rowold chipped in four, but it wasn't enough in a road loss to the Wildcats.
"Winona has a very good team," Clearwater coach Lisa Ayers said. "Our girls came out second guessing ourselves in the first set. The second set we played with more confidence, got the ball back up and over."
