Jaden Deaton and Dylan Cisne finished first and second at the Poplar Bluff cross country tri-meet on Tuesday in Poplar Bluff. In the two-mile race, Deaton averaged under 6 minutes per mile with a finish of 11:54 while Cisne took second in 13:24. Jaden Deaton and Dylan Cisne finished first and second at the Poplar Bluff cross country tri-meet on Tuesday in Poplar Bluff.

In the two-mile race, Deaton averaged under 6 minutes per mile with a finish of 11:54 while Cisne took second in 13:24. The Mules placed four people in the top five with JT Thurman taking fourth in 14:21 and Brent Worley in fifth at 14:40.

Greenville's Jagger Robinson finished third in 13:43. Rylee Joy took 10th for the Bears in 15:45 and Andrew Hills was 13th (23:42).

For the girls, Kate Bangert of Greenville won the meet in 15:03 with Poplar Bluff's Katelyn Moeller crossing the finish line 15 seconds behind her for second place. The girls team also took four of the top five spots and eight of the top 10 for the Mules.

Greenville's Beatrice Gottschalk finished eighth in 18:45 while Jayden West took 16th (26:14), Laycee Cravens was 18th (30:07) and Sara Purl was 19th (32:36).

VOLLEYBALL

Jackson 2, Poplar Bluff 1 (25-22, 17-25, 19-25)

Khelie Spence led Poplar Bluff (2-1) with 15 kills and five blocks Tuesday at Jackson. Kiley Bess added 11 kills and six blocks.
