For the second time in as many years, Pack's Do-It Center found itself hoisting the Park Department Babe Ruth League championship trophy once again Monday night.

Much like the rest of its summer run, Pack's made its championship win look easy, taking down PB Outdoor Power Sports 16-1 in three innings at McLane Park.

Pack's picked up its sixth run-rule victory on the year as well as the regular-season championship in a summer full of domination.

"A game like this has been pretty common for us this year," Pack's coach Ken Kendle said. "It's been like this from Day 1 and I couldn't be more proud of this hardworking group of boys."

Pack's winning formula throughout the season remained unchallenged with dominant pitching and an offense that couldn't be slowed down, even if they didn't have to do much.

Pack's swatted five hits and drew 14 walks against their counterpart, scoring nine runs in the bottom of the second inning to set the tone.

From the mound, Pack's starter Justin Moses set a different kind of tone by retiring all but five PB Outdoor batters on his way to a no-hitter. The right-handed hurler struck out seven, walked and hit two batters while one reached on an error to begin the game.

Just 12 hours earlier, Moses wasn't sure he'd be able to toe the rubber when he woke up with a sore back from an injury he sustained while playing basketball the night before.

"I was sweating bullets when his dad told me he woke up with a hurt back and wasn't feeling good," Kendle said. "I'm glad he was able to come out and perform like he did tonight."

Moses said he iced and heated the sore spots throughout the day, and by the time he reached the ballpark he found his touch.

"On the ride up here and especially when I got to the field I knew I'd be ready," Moses said. "I was feeling it, the location was working and I just kept throwing strikes with my fastball."

PB Outdoor's Preston Taylor was the only player to make contact off Moses when he reached on an error to leadoff the game, stole second and third and scored on a passed ball for a 1-0 lead. Moses recovered with three straight strikeouts before drawing a one-out walk in the bottom-half of the first. Moses stole second, advanced to third on an error and scored on a passed ball to tie it.

Moses went back to work, hitting the first two batters he faced in the second before catching Aaron Daughtree at second on an attempted steal. He got two more strikeouts and let the offense do the rest.

Robert Rodgers and Storm Jay led off the home half of the second with consecutive walks and came around to score on Jordan Crites' double to right field. Crites traded places with Mason Kendle, who also doubled for a 5-1 lead.

Kendle then stole third and walked home on another passed ball before Moses drew his second walk of the game. PB Outdoor starter Jaren Orton got the first out of the inning with a strikeout before issuing another free pass to Brendan Yarbro which ended his night on the mound.

Colin Lamberson drew another walk off of Tommy Rucker Jr., giving way to Cody Boggs' RBI single.

Three more runs crossed the plate on passed balls as Pack's took a commanding 10-1 advantage to the third.

Moses issued two more walks but got his final two strikeouts and another caught stealing to cap a successful night on the mound.

Pack's batted around again in the bottom of the third, scoring six runs on five walks and three hits, highlighted by Crites' RBI triple and a bases loaded walk by Jay to set the final score.

"The core of about three or four has stayed the same and from there we had an incredible draft," Pack's assistant coach Shane Cornman said. "Anybody could've coached this team all year and we'd have still won by 10 runs every night."
