PUXICO -- The Puxico girls basketball team had two players net 20 points and three score at least 15 in a 69-37 win over Campbell on Tuesday.
Faith Oliver sank five 3-pointers and led all scorers with 25 points. Kayt Haynes added 20 and Sophia Hancock got 16 for Puxico (2-0).
In Campbell's season opener, Claire Parker led the team with 12 points.
Thayer 65, Van Buren 44
The Lady Dawgs were down by 12 at halftime in the semifinals of the Lady Dawg Classic. Jalynn Morgan led Van Buren (2-1) with 19 points. Julie Stone had 27 points for Thayer.
Doniphan 76, Ellington 17
Paige Eddington had 25 points to led Doniphan (1-1), which didn't allow a point in the third quarter and just seven in the second half in the consolation semifinals of the Lady Dawg Classic. Hannah Fitzgerald led Ellington (0-3) with eight points.
Portageville 46, Greenville 40
Greenville won both the third and fourth quarter but couldn't quite climb is way out of a 10-point halftime deficit in the consolation semifinals of the Lady Dawg Classic.
Tristin Porter led Greenville with 15 points and had 10 in the first half. Beth Bangert added 12. Deandra Johnson had 19 points for Portageville.
