The Twisted Sister ended up being a tough test for runners Saturday in the ninth annual Wolf Creek Trail Run.
Daniel Mustain won the half marathon, which was held on a new course using the Crooked Branch Trail, known locally as “Twisted Sister.”
Mustain’s winning time of 1 hour, 48 minutes, 50 seconds was nearly 12 minutes slower than his winning time the previous year when he ran the third-fastest time in race history.
Chiristen Beasley was the top female finishing in 1:56:35. It was the third-fastest half marathon in the event’s history.
Rob Nations won the 6K in 28 minutes, 13 seconds while Shawna Till won the top female in 31:36.
Nearly 100 runners and walkers participated in the event sponsored by the PB Kiwanis Club and the US Forest Service. Proceeds from the race benefit the Kiwanis Bacon Memorial Park in Poplar Bluff.
