If you have not already gotten your fishing and/or your small game hunting permits for 2018, here are some options for you, your children or maybe even for your grand-children.

What we are talking about here are lifetime permits. Lifetime permits are only available to Missouri residents and the rate of charge is based on their age at the time of application.

Once issued, the recipient is required to carry their lifetime card while in the field as proof of holding a lifetime privilege. Unlike the conservation card, the lifetime card is gold/green and indicates the type of lifetime permit the holder possesses.

If the recipient moves out of state, they retain the privileges included with the lifetime permit(s) they possess; however they are required to purchase nonresident permits for privileges not included with their lifetime permit.

Lifetime permit options include: Lifetime Fishing, Lifetime Small Game Hunting and Lifetime Conservation Partner Permit.

The lifetime fishing permit costs $35-$400 and includes annual fishing and trout permits. Not included are daily trout tags available at trout parks and the White River border lakes permit)

The lifetime small game hunting permit costs $35-$400 and includes annual small game hunting, migratory bird and conservation order permits. Not included are trapping, deer and turkey permits (including landowner permits) and the federal duck stamp.

The lifetime conservation partner permit costs $70-$800 and includes annual fishing, trout, small game, migratory bird and conservation order permits. Not included are daily trout tags available at trout parks, White River border lakes permit, trapping, deer and turkey permits (including landowner permits) and the federal duck stamp.

Prices by age for all of the lifetime permits can be found in the current Wildlife Code in Chapter 5: Permits.

The lifetime permit application is available online at mdc.go.gov and is only processed by the Permit Services section located in the Jefferson City office. Public inquiries may be directed to Permit Services by calling 573-522-0107.
