The Poplar Bluff Junior High football team got three touchdowns from Justin Mitchell after Gage Rivers scored and ran for two points of a 26-0 win over Jackson at Morrow Stadium on Thursday night.
The Junior Mules (4-0-1) host Sikeston on Thursday to end their season. They can become Poplar Bluff's first team to go unbeaten in both years since the program added a seventh grade team in 2010 after finishing last year 6-0.
Jackson won the seventh grade game 14-6 as the Junior Mules (2-1) suffered their first loss.
Poplar Bluff's seventh grade game against Caruthersville scheduled for Monday has been cancelled as the Tigers are down to 11 healthy players. -- DAR
