GREENVILLE -- Tye Huff tossed a no-hitter and Alex Hicks provided all the offense as the Greenville baseball team handed East Carter a 1-0 loss in an Ozark Foothills Conference game on Tuesday. Huff needed 79 pitches to mow down the Redbirds. He struck out six and walked one while throwing 57 pitches for strikes in the win for Greenville (3-9, 1-3 OFC)...

GREENVILLE -- Tye Huff tossed a no-hitter and Alex Hicks provided all the offense as the Greenville baseball team handed East Carter a 1-0 loss in an Ozark Foothills Conference game on Tuesday.

Huff needed 79 pitches to mow down the Redbirds. He struck out six and walked one while throwing 57 pitches for strikes in the win for Greenville (3-9, 1-3 OFC).

Huff also walked and scored the only run of the game on Hicks' single in the bottom of the first inning.

Drew Asher took the loss after only allowing three hits for East Carter (14-5, 3-2). He struck out two and walked two.

Clearwater 2, Arcadia Valley 1

Heath Ayers doubled in a run and Fynn Cooper singled as Clearwater took control in the second inning in a battle of the Tigers at home.

Ayers was 2 for 3 while Jesse Holmes, Trey Rivas and Gage Keller each added a hit for Clearwater (10-4). Holmes struck out one and walked three while allowing three hits for the win.

Naylor 10, Lesterville 2

Jordan Cook, Blayne Libla and Chase Sarabia doubled to lead the Eagles at home.

Sarabia, Libla and Cody Jones each went 3 for 4 while three other players added hits for Naylor (6-12). Jones struck out five and gave up two unearned runs in five innings.

SOFTBALL

Naylor 18, Doniphan 9

Emma Moman doubled twice and Callee Pickrell hit another as the Eagles bounced back from a loss to beat the Donettes.

Seven different players had multiple hits for Naylor (9-12), which finished with 21. Alyssa Urich struck out five and earned the win.

Lexi Day went 4 for 5 with a run scored while Timberly Masching, Paige Eddington and Audrey Holland each had two hits for Doniphan (13-4).

East Carter 8, Sikeston 5

Makenna Moore tripled and Naomi Crowley was 3 for 3 as the Redbirds won.

Moore, who was 2 for 3 with two RBIs, sparked a five-run first inning while Aaliyah Coursey had two hits and an RBI. Bailey Gargac drove in three runs for East Carter (10-9).

VOLLEYBALL

Malden 2, Caruthersville 0 (25-16, 25-14)

Madi Earnheart slammed three aces and Lexi Campbell added six kills in the Green Wave's sweep of the Tigers at home. Middle hitter Lana Reed recorded four blocks in the win and Tanner Miller had 15 assists for Malden (18-7-1).

Dexter 2, Liberty 0

(25-15, 26-24)

Hannah Thurmon led Dexter with 13 kills and Bailee Williams had 23 assists. Megan Trout led Dexter with 12 digs as Blair Rogers added eight and Williams had seven. Maycie Martin kicked in 2.5 blocks while Alexa Werneck and Williams both had one.

TENNIS

Dexter 5, Notre Dame 4

The Bearcats advanced to the MSHSAA Class 1 District 1 championship match after losing two of three doubles matches against Notre Dame.
