A local gymnastics team excels at tournament by returning home with some hardware. The Xtreme Gymnastics competed at the Make It Count Spectacular gymnastics competition last weekend in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.
During the tournament, the Xtreme Gymnastics walked away with a second-place team with the gold team, and the silver team finished in third place, the bronze team also placed fourth and several event champions and all-around champions. For the first time in the 25-year history of Xtreme Gymnastics, a member scored a perfect 10 from Makynlee Hassig.
Owner and coach Jessie Walker-Luce took her team of 39 gymnasts to compete against some of the best where many states represented at this competition.
“All of our athletes have performed amazingly,” Walker-Luce said. “This was a huge accomplishment in more ways than one and I’m really proud of them. There is no off-season with gymnastics, so these girls work really hard year-round.
