ALTON, Mo. -- Seth Jones tossed a two-hitter and hit a solo home run to lead fourth-seeded Naylor past No. 5 Thayer 12-2 in a MSHSAA Class 2 District 2 quarterfinal Saturday.

Jones was 2 for 3 and with a single and capped the run-rule victory with his solo blast in the fifth inning. On the mound, the freshman notched seven strikouts, walked four and didn't allow an earned run.

"Seth Jones had an incredible game today," Naylor coach Jim Carrier said. "He pitched well and at the plate he continues to have a great approach, eye and stroke. That showed in his last at-bat."

Naylor (6-6) will play top-seeded Van Buren (14-2) in a semifinal at 2 p.m. Monday.

Landon Elledge was 2 for 4 with a pair of RBIs and Brandon Cook added two more runs. Evan Bergeron and Caleb Urich each doubled while Chance Smith added one more of the Eagles' 10 hits.

Campbell 4, Holcomb 0

Tommy Steward tossed a no-hitter as the fourth-seeded Camels blanked the fifth-seeded Hornets in the opening round of the MSHSAA Class 2 District 1 tournament.

Steward struck out eight and walked one on 86 pitches to get the win. Chris Steward was 2 for 3 with and RBI and Riley Peters went 1 for 3 with an RBI.

Campbell (9-5) plays top-seeded Bernie in the semifinals at 2 p.m. Monday.

Senath 9, Bloomfield 2

Ethan Hutchison hit a solo home run but it wasn't enough as the sixth-seeded Wildcats fell to the third-seeded Lions in a MSHSAA Class 2 District 1 quarterfinal.

Luke Hector had the only other hit for Bloomfield (10-13-1). Jacob Hector took the loss allowing four runs (three earned) on five hits.
