__Rib City still with several tournaments scheduled in July__
The Rib City Showdown is nowhere near finished as more basketball and volleyball are on deck for July.
A volleyball tournament wraps up in Cape today with more boys basketball hitting Dexter next and again on July 24-25 at the Dexter Bearcat Event Center.

__Vernon finishes 3-under in first round in Quebec__
Carr Vernon finished T12 in the first round of the Quebec Open in Bromont, Quebec, Canada, at the Golf Chateau-Bromont.
Vernon started on the back nine and hole 10 on Thursday. He logged four birdies but a double bogey on the Par 4, 6th Hole to put him at 2-under for his first nine.
For his front nine, Vernon bogeyed the first then after back-to-back pars, had another bogey to put him at even with five holes to play.
Vernon then rebounded with birdies on the fifth, seventh and ninth holes to put him at 3-under.
Vernon finished with seven birdies on the round to give him a 67 on his first 18 holes.
As of press time on Thursday, Chris Korte led the tournament at 6-under. With two players at 5-under, there is a logjam at 4-under which puts Vernon in a prime position on Friday to make the cut.
__PB MotorSports Park hosting Toys for Tots, rides__
It’s that time of the week where Poplar Bluff MotorSports Park lights up with racing this Friday night.
Pits open at 5 p.m., grandstands open at 6 p.m., hotlaps begin at 7 p.m. and the racing starts at 7:30 p.m.
This week will feature A Mods, B Mods, Factory Stock, Pro 4S, Sportsman Late Model and Street Stock.
Adults are $15 for the grandstand with veterans, first responders and seniors at $12. Kids 12 and under are free.
Friday will also feature a Toys for Tots drive at the raceway and there will also be carnival rides as well.
