MALDEN -- Hannah Burk knocked down a pair of free throws after being fouled in the paint with nine second remaining to seal a 52-50 road victory for Holcomb at Malden Monday.

Malden pushed the ball the length of the floor after the made free throws. Arionne Ross attempted a 2-point shot that was blocked out of bounds by Holcomb with about five seconds left.

The Green Wave inbounded the ball underneath their own basket with five seconds left but Holcomb managed to deflect the ball out of bounds near the Green Wave's own bench before they could get a shot off.

Malden inbounded the ball once more in the corner near their own bench with about 2.1 second remaining. Shamya Dobbins caught the inbound pass along the baseline and penetrated toward the basket but was unable to get a shot off before time ran out.

Dobbins paced Malden with 13 points. Madison Saulsbery added 12 more fore the Green wave.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Monday's Games

Doniphan 40, Kennett 34

Lexi Day and Timberly Masching scored 11 and 10 respectively as Doniphan held off Kennett for its fourth win of the season. Ady Jones and Emily Ederer added eight points apiece to help lead a balanced attack from the Donettes (4-1).

Twin Rivers 67,

Portageville 55

Jalynn Williams scored a game-high 21 points and Abbey Hester added 19 as the Lady Royals defeated Portageville Monday. Hester scored 14 of her points in the second half to help Twin Rivers pull away in the fourth quarter. Williams scored 18 points in the first half to spark the early momentum for her team.Dasmine Johnson led Portageville with 19 points.

Puxico 58, Woodland 53

Sophia Hancock led Puxico with 31 points in the Lady Red Devil Invitational. Hancock had 12 field goals and was 6 for 11 on free throws.

Campbell 44,

Greenville 41

Claire Parker scored 17 points in a tight win for Campbell Monday night. Down by seven at halftime, the Camels outscored the Bears 16-8 in the third to take the lead.

Emily Peters and Elizabeth Steward scored 10 apiece to boost Campbell. Kenzie Miller led the way for Greenville with 14 points.
