It was a packed house at Whitely Park on Tuesday as a local baseball league dished out their first pitch of the season.
The 2024 Poplar Bluff Buddy Ball baseball season has kicked off, and multiple teams took the field for a day of fun and smiles.
Buddy Ball has allowed those with physical or developmental disabilities to experience the game of baseball firsthand while building a support network for individuals, families and the community.
Buddy Ball, now in its tenth year, has enabled children and adults to come off the sidelines and into the action. Buddy Ball is designed to provide those with disabilities with the chance to play baseball with a buddy at their side.
Buddy Ball will play its games at Whitely Park on May 28, June 4, June 11 and June 18th. The younger league plays at 5:30 p.m., while the older league starts at 6:30 and 7:30 p.m.
