The Poplar Bluff City Council will have a special meeting at 6:30 p.m., a public hearing at 6:45 p.m. and its regular meeting at 7 p.m. Monday, June 15, in the City Council Chambers, 301 S. Fifth St.
The special meeting at 6:30 p.m. will include the city manager presenting each council person with their salaries for services to the city prior to the city clerk presenting the abstract of votes cast at the Municipal election Tuesday, June 3, for their approval.
Retiring at-large city councilmen and the retiring mayor will address the council prior to the clerk swearing in the newly-elected council members.
The new council will elect a mayor and a mayor pro tem for the year 2020-2021.
The council will hold a public hearing at 6:45 p.m. Monday, June 15, in the City Council Chambers to receive citizens’ input relative to the past performance by the city in carrying out the Community Development Block Grant for the 11th street road and bridge project.
City Council will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, June 15, in the council chambers for its regular meeting.
Workshop items for discussion:
•A review of a contract with MoDOT for the land lease agreement for the “Gateway to the Ozarks” property.
•A grant application between the city and the U.S. Department of Commerce Economic Development Administration’s CARES Act Recovery Assistance Program for Downtown Poplar Bluff infrastructure.
•Bids for the roof replacement project for Fire Station No. 1 located at 200 S. Broadway.
•A zoning recommendation from the Planning and Zoning Commission regarding a proposed annexation of property located at 481 Highway W, Poplar Bluff, Mo.
•A zoning recommendation from the Planning and Zoning Commission regarding a proposed annexation of property located at 465 Highway W, Poplar Bluff, Mo.
The city council action required items include:
•A temporary cell tower height request located at 1017 Ridge Avenue, Poplar Bluff.
•A contract for a land lease agreement with MoDOT.
•An ordinance for annexation of property located at 481 Highway W, Poplar Bluff, Mo.
•An ordinance for annexation of property located at 465 Highway W, Poplar Bluff, Mo.
•A resolution to apply for a USDA grant for a new fire department ladder truck.
•A resolution authorizing the city to apply for the US Department of Commerce Economic Development Administration’s CARES Act Recovery Assistance Program for Downtown Poplar Bluff infrastructure.
The city council will meet in a closed meeting in which they will discuss such matters which are exempted under the opening meetings law.
The city manager will give his report before adjournment.

Municipal Utilities Advisory Board will meet at 3 p.m. Monday, June 15, at 1902 Sunset Drive.

Poplar Bluff Parks and Recreation Board will meet at 5 p.m. Monday, June 15, in the Black River Coliseum lobby meeting room.
The board will elect officers, listen to anyone who wishes to address the board, discuss golf course maintenance and hear the park director’s report. The board will consider a closed session to discuss matters exempted by the open meeting law.

The Tree Advisory Board will meet at 4 p.m. Tuesday, June 16, in the council chambers in the coliseum.
Under old business, the board will discuss an application for the Tree City U.S.A. designation.
In new business, the board will discuss a derelict tree located in the 800 block of South D Street and fall tree planting at various sites.

Due to lack of agenda items, three boards have cancelled their meeting.
Animal Control Advisory Board would have met Tuesday, June 16, but plans to meet Tuesday, July 21; the Plumbing board has changed its meeting from Thursday, June 18 to 5 p.m. Thursday, July 16 and the Board of Adjustment’s regular meeting for Thursday, June 18, is rescheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday, July 16.
