To the Editor:
This time of year, New Year's resolutions are on everyone's mind. At the John J. Pershing VA Medical Center, we like to look at the new year as a chance to renew our pledge to provide the care our Veterans have earned and deserve.
If you are a Veteran with health-conscious 2018 goals of becoming more active, quitting smoking, learning how to cook healthier meals, or just being more proactive about your healthcare, we can help set you up for success!
Big goals like these can be challenging to tackle on your own...but it can also be hard to take that first step and ask for assistance. Whether you need help setting up a meal plan or reaching out because you struggled to find joy this holiday season, I would like to remind our Veterans that the entire staff of the John J. Pershing VAMC is here to assist with your health care needs and goals. Let our Nutrition Services, MOVE! Program, or one of our excellent therapists help you jump-start the year on the right foot.
Our main facility is in Poplar Bluff, but we also have clinics in Farmington, Cape Girardeau, Sikeston, West Plains and Salem, Missouri, as well as Paragould and Pocahontas, Arkansas. This is one way we can bring your care closer to home. Our comprehensive healthcare system encompasses services such as mental health, primary care, a wide range of specialty care services, high-functioning telehealth capabilities and a host of 'Whole Health' initiatives that are all here to help you take control of your healthcare. And of course, we have a robust Care-in-the-Community program for qualifying Veterans.
If you are a Veteran not yet enrolled with the VA Healthcare system, you may not even know about all that is available to you. If you would like to learn more about the services we provide, please contact our eligibility office at (573)-778-4730.
Let us help to repay the debt our nation owes its Veterans by helping you make 2018 your most successful and healthy year, yet!
