OK, you can breathe now. The election is over. Time to get some things into perspective.
Did anyone notice that this past Sunday was All Saints Day?
Yes, Nov. 1 is the day where we honor those who have gone to their reward before us. We honor those who have stayed true to Christ regardless of what was going on in the world.
I know many of you may have done something with Halloween, which is the prep day for All Saints Day. (Halloween is All Hallows Eve)
The reason I point this out to you is that God gives us so many reasons to rejoice and celebrate, yet we tend to let the world dictate our anxiety and fears. This anger and hatred that the politics has garnered in us is not what God intends for his children.
1 John 3:1, “See, what love the father has given us, that we should be called children of God; and that is what we are.”
Each and everyone of us is made in the image of God, thus we are his children. Don’t you think it is about time we started acting like it?
I don’t know about you, but I am a bit tired of dealing with anger and frustration.
COVID and politics has put everyone on edge. Good news seems to be in short supply, and bad news is everywhere. The world encourages us to look out for the failings of others, especially our leaders.
It is time to put a stop to it.
The election is over. Now is the time to ask what you can do to help make life better for everyone. Now is NOT the time to just sit by and complain about things full time. It’s time to move forward and change the world.
Every human being is made in the image of God. This means we are all one big family. As family, we need to help one another out. It is time to get moving.
Don’t let limited church stop you. Contact your pastor and seek ways to minister in your context.
Pray, pray and pray. Check up on your neighbors and make sure they are doing alright.
Ask the teachers what you can do to help them with their job, (I think you would be surprised with their response, almost as much as they will be surprised by the question).
It is time to fix what is broken and to reinforce what is mended.
We have an opportunity to do something new and wonderful; we just need to get over all the negativity that has been served to us on a daily basis.
God is in charge. Our father has this and has our back. We just need to trust him and do his will. We are not nor ever will be deserted or forsaken. God doesn’t work that way.
He does, however, expect us to be his children by loving him and his children. Can you do that?
I hope so.
See you in church.
