A nation must have secure borders to be a nation. A nation without secure borders cannot remain an independent nation. And with the blessings God has given the USA, there are those not willing to respect our borders in order to get a piece of that blessing.

So given these facts, why is the left unwilling to help the President secure our borders now? Former President Barack Obama voted to increase the security of our southern border when he was in the senate. When he was President, he repeatedly spoke of our need to not let illegal immigration activity continue. Hillary Clinton voted several times to increase the security of our southern border. She bragged about it repeatedly in her failed campaign for president. So why is it so suddenly a bad thing to secure our border?

It is truly an attempt by the left to secure a new voting block for the Democrat Party by promising yet another demographic a handout paid for by American citizens (not to mention their deep seated obsession of defeating ANYTHING this President wants to accomplish). According to the Immigration Reform Law Institute, over $116 billion of taxpayer money each year goes to pay for services provided to illegal immigrants including health care, education, litigation and incarceration. So according to these Democrats, they refuse to pay $5.7 Billion for a wall to lessen the burden on the taxpayer that is currently estimated at $116 billion. This is defined as lunacy.

But the true shame of this whole situation is rarely spoken of. In spite of the monumental improvements made by this President in the Veterans Administration, there are still over 120,000 homeless veterans in the US. These people sacrificed for our country, our freedom and our way of life, and yet the Democrats in Washington are willing to shut down the U.S. Government and continue spending $116 billion a year on illegal non-citizens while these homeless veterans are the ones who should be the center of their concern and attention. Our citizens, and especially our veterans, deserve our support long before any illegal immigrant. We must preserve our status as an independent nation by enforcing our immigration laws, deporting non-citizens who violate them, and do our best to prevent further violations by securing our border and building the wall.
