To our Citizens:
In the 1800s Sir Robert Reed observed that "the Police are the public, and, the public are the Police; the Police being only members of the public who are paid to give full-time attention to duties which are incumbent on every citizen in the interests of their community welfare, safety, and existence."
The need is even greater in today's tumultuous times.
Like law enforcement agencies throughout our great country, the Poplar Bluff Police Department strives to balance proactive and reactive law enforcement approaches in an effort to prevent crime where possible, and appropriately investigate it when necessary.
The truth is that no Police department can succeed without the support and cooperation of the community it serves.
I would like to extend "my sincere thanks" to each and every citizen that steps forward with their support, cooperation, and help, to keep Poplar Bluff as prosperous and safe as we can.
