SDLqThe Russians are coming. The Russians are coming!"

Many remember this statement from a movie released in the 1960s. The practice of whipping well-intentioned American citizens into a frenzy over fear of foreign threats is not a new or novel tactic.

As the investigation of Russian interference into the 2016 U.S. elections crawls painfully into its third year, the Progressive Left continues to salivate over the possibility that the Trump Administration could get a black eye from it. And, while the stated purpose of the investigation was Russian interference, it has branched out into a witch hunt into all things Trump.

I have no doubt that the Russians wanted to have some type of influence on our elections. It happens all the time. Just like when former President Obama sent money to Israel to attempt to prevent the re-elections of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

But the question is, was President Trump involved? When much of the basis for this investigation is on an uncorroborated dossier created by a foreign national and paid for by affiliates of the Democrat Party and Hillary Clinton Campaign, I would say it is highly doubtful.

The continued desire to destroy President Trump is to be expected, especially when the political landscape and establishment despises his attempts, and successes, at draining the swamp in DC of the entrenched and self-serving bureaucrats. But to go to the lengths of making up a despicable and false story, funding it with money from friends of the DNC, turning it into evidence as if validated or even approaching truth, and selling it to the American people as fact is repulsive at best, and more than likely diabolical and un-American.

We, the American voters, are smarter than to fall for this. We have proven to see through these kinds of schemes of deceit in the past and are now called upon, once again, to be discerning. We were discerning in the last presidential election, and I have faith enough in our citizenry to believe we will continue to do so.
