William Clerance Kinchen, 89, of Gideon, Missouri passed away Sunday, Sept. 18 in Gideon.
Known by most as W.C. or Bill, he was born on May 9, 1933 in Savannah, Tennessee. He was a member of Bush Pentecostal Church of Portageville, Missouri.
He was a man of soft words and strong hands. He was held together by his faith and a deep love for his children and grandchildren. As a United States Army veteran, Bill spent most of his years supporting his family as a farmer. Upon his retirement, he enjoyed spending his days with his wife and cherishing time with his grandchildren. He leaves memories of both stubbornness and devotion; his views on life were unchanging and he loved his kids unconditionally. We admire his wisdom from all realms of life-experience and strive for his patience. We will remember his smile and we will cherish the sound of his voice.
He is preceded in death by his parents, William Andrew Kinchen and Etta Mae (Kitty) Kinchen; special aunt, Lorene (Kitty) Kinchen; brothers, Lawson, Arthur, and Lige Kinchen and Bobby Treece; sisters, Margaret (Kinchen) Mooney and Barbara Ann (Treece) Lust; and great-grandson, Cooper William Campbell.
Survivors include his spouse, Freddie Mae (McAlister) Kinchen; children, Andy Kinchen (Clarissa), Starrla Norman (James) and Krissy Buchanan; grandchildren, Dustin Nowlin (Chris), Misty Cossey, Bridgett Brewer (Joe), Amanda Blaylock (Josh), Austin Kinchen (Jesi), Alizabeth Williams (Justin), Brooke Campbell (Joe), Caleb Buchanan and Hunter Norman; and 17 great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2022 at Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 22, 2022, in the chapel, with Rev. Randy DeProw officiating. Burial will be in the Portageville Cemetery in Portageville.
