NEELYVILLE, Mo.-- William Chester "Bud" Carter, 71, of Doniphan, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2018 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.
He was born Dec. 3, 1946 at Poplar Bluff to the late Roy and Laura Mae "Mangle" Carter. On Aug. 15, 1972 at Ellsinore, Missouri he was married to Barbara Ann Bridges. She survives.
Also surviving are his children; Loria Mae Hillis (Allen) of Williamsville, Missouri, Barbara Ann Smith of Doniphan, Missouri, Gail Gardner (Daniel) of Doniphan, Missouri and June Yandell (James) of Naylor, Missouri. Two brothers, Lester Carter of Naylor and Billy Joe Carter of Fairdealing, Missouri also survive. Six grandchildren, Artie, Nicholas, Jessica, Lee, Jacob and Jasper and four great-grandchildren; Weston, Kesley, Ariana and Aveda survive.
He is preceded in death by his parents as well as one son, William Chester Carter Jr.; two sisters, Frances Brooks and Bertha Mae Hawkins; and two brother, Jesse Lee Carter and Charles Carter.
Mr. Carter was a farmer and enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, farming, rabbits, dogs and is grandchildren. He had attended the Naylor Pentecostal Church and had been a lifelong resident of the area.
Visitation for Mr. Carter will start at 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, 2018 in the Fowler & Sons Funeral Home of Neeylville, Missouri. Funeral will follow at 1 p.m. Saturday. Burial will be in the Coon Island Cemetery at Neelyville with Donnie Fowler officiating.
