Wayne Powell, 65, of Poplar Bluff died Friday, May 29, 2020, at his resident.

Mr. Powell was born Dec. 9, 1954 in Wood River, Ill. He retired after working 39 years at Kneibert Clinic. He was a member of Bay Springs Missionary Baptist Church. He served in the United States Air Force.

He married Crickett Powell Dec. 31, 1986 and she survives. The Powells have been foster parents having adopted three children in 2019.

Also surviving are his father, Elder Cletis Harris Powell; children, Renee Dawn Weatheerby (Rus), Cletis Wayne Powell Jr., Nicole Gelna McDaniel (Sam), Marica Dawn Powell, Auzariah Powell, Carlton James Powell and Matthew Powell; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchildren; brothers, Kenneth Douglas Powell (Cheri), Rick Powell (Dianne) and Phillip Powell; sister, Daurice Spencer (Leon); and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Gelene Powell, and a brother, Timothy Powell.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, May 31, 2020 at Fowler Sullivan Funeral Home. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday, June 1, at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home. Officiating will be Dusty Armstrong assisted by Kevin Eudaily. Burial will be in the Bay Springs Cemetery.

In Lieu of flowers, memorial maybe made to Foster Adopt in Poplar Bluff.
